How this blog is built
Astro, Markdown in Git and animated ArchFlow diagrams: the choices behind the blog and what each one solves.
Published on · 1 min read
This blog is a static site built with Astro. Every post is a Markdown file in Git, with no database and no editing panel. The upside is portability: if the framework changes a few years from now, the texts stay intact.
What changes while reading
The lesson diagrams come from ArchFlow and are animated SVGs. They enter the text as numbered figures, take more width than the text column and never cause horizontal scrolling. Each figure has two buttons: one to pause the animation and one to zoom the diagram.
export function readingTime(markdown: string): number {
// code counts for half the reading time of prose
}
